Campsite Description

Set in the grounds of an old Breton Farm, La Grande Métairie boasts an excellent location just a few minutes' drive from Carnac's long, sandy beaches. A member of the 'Castels' chain, this large picturesque site has a spacious camping area, with most pitches neatly separated by hedges and trees. There is a superb waterpark with an indoor pool, waterslides and a 'Lazy River', all of which are overlooked by the site's restaurant/pizzeria (open from mid-May). The miniature farm on-site always proves popular with young and old alike. For the adventurous the site have recently added a 400m zip wire and archery now features on their list of activities. In high season an 'animateur' organises games and competitions for children of all ages and popular evening entertainment in the open-air amphitheatre, from Breton soirées to family barbecues. Location: The site is situated on the edge of Carnac town opposite the famous standing stones. Around & about: Carnac Plage, just a 20 minute cycle ride away along quiet roads, has a lively atmosphere and an excellent range of restaurants, not to mention a long stretch of sandy beach.
