Campsite Description
An attractive campsite in a great location, whether you wish to explore Biarritz, the idyllic Basque country or simply relax by the superb pool. A member of the prestigious 'Castels' chain, Le Ruisseau is situated on a hillside overlooking a small lake just 10km outside the beautiful seaside town of Biarritz. With extensive, first class facilities including a superb pool complex and outdoor spa and balneo area (payable), new multi sports facility, tennis courts and a lively programme of evening entertainment in the high season, the site offers plenty to keep all the family busy. A small, modern bar with an outdoor terrace overlooks the lagoon style pool area with slides. The camping pitches are set around the attractive lake and are flat, grassy and separated by trees and low hedges. It should be noted that this site is hilly and therefore not suitable for those with limited mobility. Location: Set in the foothills of the Pyrénées, just a short drive from the beaches at Bidart. Around & about: The elegant resort of Biarritz is close by and can be reached via a bus, which stops at the site entrance. This luxurious seaside town is popular with tourists and surfers and boasts some of the best beaches in Europe. The pretty fishing town of St Jean de Luz is also well worth a visit and Spain is within reach for a day trip. Walkers should be sure to make the most of the breathtaking mountain scenery just minutes away.

Bg campsite, big beach! good
Had another great stay at Vieux Port. The site is almost more like a village than a campsite! The new pool complex is second to none. Enjoyed daily trips to the beach which is huge. Although the campsite is quite shady, it was quite a relief to cool off on our pitch after the hike back over the dunes to the site. Toilet blocks are separated for men and women and always clean.

worth the journey good
Access through the site was steep and a bit tricky with our van but well worth the effort once we got settled on the pitch. We had a nice view of the lake and were pitched quite near to the pool complex at the bottom of the site. We really enjoyed some of the seafood restaurants in the area - sorry, can't remember any names to make recommendations though, but there were lots of good ones!
