Campsite Description
Set in the magnificent wooded parkland of a 16th Century château, this is a spacious, family orientated site with grassy pitches mainly sheltered by tall trees. There is plenty to do on the campsite and in the scenic surrounding area which is rich in history and culture. Within the château there is a delightful restaurant, serving a wealth of regional specialities, popular with locals and campsite guests alike. Other facilities include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a sauna and jacuzzi and a fishing lake which is available for customers to use free of charge. The celebrated Burgundy vineyards are just a short drive away, and make sure you're around for the weekly wine-tastings organised in the site's château cellars. The bar terrace is the backdrop for live music entertainment once a week during high season. Location: 16km from the A6 Autoroute du Soleil and close to Sennecy-le-Grand. Around & about: A short walk brings you to the River Saône, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll or bike ride; or spend a day taking in the architecture of the bustling town of Mâcon, or explore the famous-name vineyards all around. Days out: Take a trip to Dijon, the former capital of the dukes of Burgundy, famous for blackcurrant liqueur and mustard, along with its wines. The city boasts a suprisingly large number of impressive churches and cathedrals including St Berigne, Notre Dame St Etienne and St Michel, which are all worth a visit.
