Over expended sufficient

Wonderful and very lively family site with one very big draw back, it's been over expanded and the facilities do not match the numbers of people on site. We stayed on pitch 683 and it was very poor. It was in the new area of the site with no shade and we think it was previously a gravel road way which had sand dumped on top. Lost over 14 tent pegs trying to put up tent on first night after driving for 12 hours. Ground rock hard as mainly compacted gravel. I lost it big style and we should of move pitch the next morning but didn't. How foolish. Speaking to other families in the same same area they were also shocked at how poor this expanded part of the site was, open drain, one tap for ten pitches and various cases of vomiting and stomach up sets. Frequent queues were also seen for showers and toilets. The pool area is great, shade and grass area to relax but again the numbers on site now make the pool very crowded and at times a bit scary. There are are life guards on duty who use their whistles frequently but in an over crowded pool it's hard to see everything. The prices on site are really over the top and beyond belief - 2.5 euros for a can of coke, 3.5 euros for take away french fries, 6 euros for a 500ml larger, 1.6 euros for a doughnut or 2.3 Euros for an eclair, etc etc. The days of a good value camping holiday in France are gone. Its was very expensive on the site and in the area. Access into and out of the site can cause a lot of problems. There is a type of one way system in and out of the camp area but I witnessed cars queuing several hundred metres back from the exit road on more than once. The main established part of the site is very good and the beach is wonderful. The evening entertainment is very engaging and at times professional. The children's play parks around the sites are always clean and of a high standard. The fresh bread is excellent in the morning. But would I go back? I'm sorry to say the answer would be no. Greed has take over and I think the site is suffering.
