Campsite Description

This exceptional site has a superb setting, close to the dramatic Gorges du Tarn and the Cévennes National Park. A steep hillside accommodates the generous, terraced pitches, which all offer peace and privacy with many enjoying stunning views across the countryside. The village of Cantobre, clinging to a rock face, makes an impressive backdrop to the site. The pool complex has waterslides and a lazy river, making it a great place for the whole family to enjoy a few hours. Many of the site's amenities, including the restaurant, bar and pizzeria (where pizzas are baked in a traditional wood-fire oven) are housed in converted medieval farm buildings. The friendly owners organise a variety of activities to help you to explore the dramatic landscape of this breathtaking region. Location: Just 5km from the villages of Nant and Cantobre, and approximately 30km south of Millau. Additional activities: The site offers a wide range of outdoor activities in the local area, including organised rafting excursions, caving, mountain biking, rock climbing, abseiling, paragliding, bungee jumping, pot holing, horse riding treks (for beginners and experienced riders), guided walks, and birdwatching where you can look out for vultures and even golden eagles. All activities incur a cost, some have age restrictions and the programme may be more limited in low season. Around & about: This area is perfect for walking and there are many picturesque villages perched on cliff tops, medieval fortified settlements and bustling market towns to explore.
