Beginning in France, the Ardennes stretches east across Luxembourg and Belgium before continuing on into Germany, covering three Belgian provinces en route. The most popular corner lies between Dinant, La Roche-en-Ardenne and Bouillon. This gorgeous region is characterised by its river valleys: deep, wooded canyons and  beautiful green peaks. Underground is equally impressive with large cave systems like the Grottes de Hotton to explore. But it's not all about the countryside there are great cities to discover, as well as battlefields and even space centres!

Southern Belgium is perfect for outdoors adventure. Wallonia is a haven for mountain bikers, with numerous signposted routes, of varying difficulties, on trails that cross magnificent forests and countryside. Houffalize (52km from Parc La Clusure) has become Belgium's mountain biking Mecca. The Ardennes area is also very popular with hikers with lots of marked paths including La Transardennaise, a 140 kilometres long footpath running through the Ardennes from La Roche to Bouillon. Marked hiking paths also start in the village of Grupont just 1.3km from the site. If golf is your sport of choice, don't worry - there are three golf courses with 45km of the site!
