La Paille Basse CampsiteSouillac, Dordogne
- Countryside views
- Spacious pitches (80-200m2)
- Don't miss the Château of Montfort
La Paille Basse lies between the regions of Périgord and Quercy, amidst a landscape dotted with rural farms and sleepy villages
Resting on a wooded hillside, with lovely views of the surrounding fields and hills, it has restored medieval outbuildings which house the modern yet cosy restaurant and bar. The camping area has pitches which are generous in size, flat and laid out amongst the light woodland. Ideal for couples or families with young children, there are both outdoor and children’s pools on site, as well as a four lane waterslide. In high season, entertainment is organised on the campsite, including jazz concerts, night markets and dance evenings around a communal campfire. Out and about, this is a beautiful region to explore and there is much to see. The bustling medieval town of Sarlat is a lively hub in the summer months with colourful markets laid out along its cobbled streets. In addition, the Caves of Lascaux, the cliff-side town of Rocamadour and the enchanting Château of Montfort are all close enough for a day out.
