Close to the zoo at Doué La Fontaine, Domaine de La Brèche has long been a firm favourite, with both couples and families with young children.
With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the campsite is located upstream from the historic town of Saumur, which has a pretty market square and which is overlooked by a 13th Century cliff top château. It has large, grassy and level pitches, and a fantastic water complex which includes an attractively designed children’s area, waterslides and a covered pool for low season stays. Horse and pony trekking, and go-karting are popular on site activities by day, and the site organises bingo competitions, quiz nights and family discos in the evenings. The campsite is an excellent base from which to explore the nearby attractions of the region, including the impressive Chateau of Ussé, which was the inspiration for the tale of Sleeping Beauty.
