Surrounded by the Audomarois National Park, Le Château du Gandspette is a quiet, charming and family run campsite, which is close to the Eurotunnel terminal and cross channel ports.
Situated in the peaceful wooded grounds of a small 19th Century château, the campsite has flat and grassy pitches, which are well defined by pretty flowering hedges and beautiful trees, of which some are over one hundred years old. The site is exceptionally maintained, with facilities including a converted wooden beam and stone clad stable restaurant, which serves traditional French cuisine in a relaxed ambience. In addition, fresh bread can be bought from the visiting baker each morning, and there is a supermarket in the nearby small village of Eperlecques. There is an excellent children’s play area and heated pool on site, and a limited programme of entertainment is offered in high season. Although convenient for an overnight stop, the site is also ideal for longer stays near to the Opal Coast as Flanders, the market town of St Omer and the World War II Blockhaus bunker are also within easy reach.
