Burgundy

Camping and Touring in Burgundy

Known for its prestigious wines, including Chablis, Beaujolais and Pinot Noir, the region of Burgundy is a patchwork of rolling vineyards, fertile pastures and the gently winding Canal de Bourgogne which cuts through the landscape for 150 miles. This sleepy corner of France is also considered by many as the gastronomical heart of the country. In addition to sampling the mustard from Dijon, creamy cheese from Comté and the most expensive chicken in the world at Bresse, be sure to make time to visit the many historical sites including the Hospices de Beaune, the Benedictine monastery at Cluny and the Château of Cormatin.
