Camping and Touring in The Jura and Vosges
Caught between Burgundy to the west and Switzerland to the east, the Jura is a region of contrasts where rivers thunder through deep gorges and spruce forests, cascading down sheer rock faces at one turn, and medieval villages, castle ruins and isolated caves dot the hushed landscape and Alpine pastures at the next. One of the lesser known corners of France, it is rural and undiscovered, and Les Grandes traversées du Jura is a 300km trail which allows you to pass sleepy hamlets and some of the oldest vineyards in France either on foot, by horseback or with a mountain bike.
